Montessori is an educational pedagogy that focuses on the interests of each child and his or her needs. The concepts behind the pedagogy were consolidated by Dr. Maria Montessori in the beginning of the 20th century.

Montessori education is based on six pillars:

• Self-education

• Cosmic education

• Education as science

• Prepared environment

• Prepared adult

• Balanced child
